MOPSM 2025 – Block Jagannath Prasad A Celebration Plus Event

The Matsya o Prani Sampad Mela (MOPSM) 2025) was successfully organized at Block Jagannath Prasad, Ganjam, under the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department, Government of Odisha.

The programme was further elevated by the inauguration of the newly constructed Veterinary Hospital Building.

The Veterinary Hospital Building was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA, Bhanjanagar Constituency, Shri Pradyumna Kumar Nayak, in the presence of senior officials, veterinarians, farmers, and local representatives.

The entire event was meticulously supervised and guided by Dr. Nihar Ranjan Samantry, Block Veterinary Officer (BVO), Jagannath Prasad, whose effective leadership, planning, and coordination played a vital role in the smooth execution of both the Mela and the hospital inauguration programme.

Strengthening Animal Healthcare Infrastructure

The inauguration of the new Veterinary Hospital marks a major milestone in strengthening animal healthcare services in Jagannath Prasad block. The facility will ensure improved veterinary treatment, vaccination, disease control, and farmer support, contributing significantly to livestock development in the region.

The MOPSM 2025 aimed to:

• Disseminate information on fisheries and animal husbandry schemes

• Promote scientific and sustainable farming practices

• Create awareness on subsidies, insurance, and welfare initiatives
